SWY Australia is excited to once again host the Ship for World Youth in Brisbane. SWY has a long history of visiting Brisbane, as it is a perfect host city for an international youth leadership and cross-cultural understanding program. Brisbane is the cosmopolitan capital of the Australian state of Queensland and is a vibrant city with a diverse and multicultural population.
Brisbane is Australia's third largest city with 2.4 million people calling it home. Brisbane is also one of the fastest-growing capital cities in Australia. The population of Brisbane is young and skilled, highly educated and culturally diverse.
This beautiful green city is located on the banks of the Brisbane River which carves down the centre of the city providing stunning views. Brisbane is built on the land of the Turrbal and Jagera Aboriginal people who remain the traditional owners of this special land.
Brisbane has an incredible subtropical climate and an average of eight hours of sun per day - a prefect destination for life in the great outdoors. During the Port of Call it will be summer with a minimum average temperature of 21C and a maximum of 30C.
