What is your favourite SWY memory?

Playing soccer as part of our international SWY team in torrential rain in Sri Lanka. Soaking wet, we then performed cultural presentations to a local and international audience which ended in an all in Soran bushi (Japanese folk dance).

What excites you about being on the SWY Australia Exec?

I'm excited to contribute to opportunities for Australian youth to connect with the world while getting to know more about themselves and their own culture. I also enjoy strengthening the Australia-Japan relationship through people-to-people connections.

What is your favourite SWY memory?

My favourite SWY memory is staying with my beautiful host family in Osaka. They were so welcoming, and we went on so many fun adventures in such a short time together. I got to visit them again at the start of 2020.

What excites you about being on the SWY Australia Exec?

I’m excited to support our new delegation in their preparations for SWY, and to continue working on interesting initiatives to engage our alumni and the broader community in SWY’s mission.

What is your favourite SWY memory?

One of my favourite SWY memories was during our stop over in the Solomon Islands. Two other Australians and I were lucky enough to have a tour of the Solomon Islands by another delegate. We were taken to the school they run and were able to help in the kindergarten class. We were then taken to local areas and told about Solomon Island history and culture.

What excites you about being on the SWY Australia Exec?

I am excited to be able to help and encourage others, especially Indigenous youth to participate in SWY, creating friendships and gaining amazing leadership qualities.

What is your favourite SWY memory?

There was a particular point where everyone in my discussion group had been planning sustainable cities - we came together, taking the best elements form each that really stuck with me. Having so many people, from such diverse backgrounds who all cared so deeply about the issues facing our communities really gave me hope for the future and showed just what we can do if we get together and listen to each other.

What excites you about being on the SWY Australia Exec?

Getting the chance to engage deeper with the SWY community, The alumni community is widespread and composed of some of the most passionate and welcoming people and I’m really looking forward to getting to work with them. I’m also super excited to facilitating programs for future delegations so that they have incredible experiences on their own programs.
